Assistance
How We Help
I Am Stage 4 Foundation provides financial assistance to eligible Stage 4 cancer patients and their families to help protect housing stability, household finances and long-term financial security during treatment.
Mortgage Payments
Helping qualified families stay current on their primary residence mortgage during periods of financial hardship related to Stage 4 cancer.
Debt Payments
Assistance with qualifying monthly debt obligations when necessary to help prevent missed payments and damage to the recipient’s credit profile.
Credit Repair
Helping eligible recipients address credit-related challenges caused by financial hardship during treatment, including support intended to reduce further credit damage and improve overall financial stability.
Property Taxes
Assistance with property tax bills that could otherwise put the homeowner’s property or financial stability at risk.
Homeowners Insurance
Helping eligible homeowners maintain required homeowners insurance coverage and avoid policy cancellation or lapses.
Mortgage Refinance Closing Costs
Assistance with eligible closing costs when refinancing a mortgage could meaningfully reduce the homeowner’s monthly housing expense or improve their financial position.
Our Goal Is Simple
Help Stage 4 cancer patients remain financially stable in their homes while they focus their energy on treatment, family and living their lives.
Assistance is charitable, eligibility-based and subject to available Foundation funds. Financial assistance is subject to eligibility requirements, documentation, available funding and Foundation approval. Assistance is not guaranteed.

Martin Kane — Founder, I Am Stage 4 Foundation
Martin Kane founded I Am Stage 4 Foundation with the goal of turning personal experience into meaningful assistance for others.
His belief is simple: when someone is fighting Stage 4 cancer, their energy should be focused on treatment, family, and living — not on the fear of losing their home.
Through I Am Stage 4 Foundation and Ironwake.org Foundation, Martin is building programs and partnerships designed to provide practical help, strengthen communities, and continue a lifelong commitment to service.

A Lifetime Of Service
Service and preparedness have been part of Martin Kane's life for decades, beginning with his service in the U.S. Coast Guard.
That commitment continues to shape the values behind both I Am Stage 4 Foundation and Ironwake.org Foundation.
Ironwake.org Foundation is an independent nonprofit initiative. It is not a government agency or law-enforcement organization, and it is not operated by, endorsed by, or officially affiliated with the United States Coast Guard.
